Welcome to Slov-Trans

The establishment of the EU and the increased migration of Europe’s citizens mean that now, more than ever, the ability to communicate effectively in all languages is of paramount importance.

We work from English to Slovak, Slovak to English, Czech to English and English to Czech and can handle anything from legal documents to medical reports, public sector documents and much more. Our extensive translation experience has been gained through many years of translating for various UK Government departments (HMRC, DWP, the Official Solicitor, CPS, the Scottish High Court of Justiciary and numerous County Courts) and many other companies, organisations and private clients. Our small team of freelance translators, all native speakers of one of the languages offered, has built up an extremely solid reputation, based on our professionalism, experience and dedicated approach. Expertise

Legal translation

Specialist knowledge of legal terminology, procedures and an understanding of legal systems in both countries are vital for accurate translation; arguably more so than in any other sector. Whether you require an expert linguist for a general legal text or a more detailed project involving criminal or care proceedings, you will be presented with timely, precise work, be it case documentation, court judgement, witness statement, interview recording, various certificates, etc.

Medical translation

Similarly, in the medical field, a patient’s diagnosis and subsequent treatment will depend on 100% accuracy in translation. There is no room for error and so knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology is an absolute must. Having worked on translations of consultants’ letters, medical files and reports, confidentiality, professionalism and precision are guaranteed.

Other

Outside of the above areas, which constitute about 90% of our work, other clients included those involved in education, social sciences and human resources.
